POSITION SUMMARY:                

Maintain an efficient and profitable Export Division and oversee the day to day operations and employees as they handle arrangements for freight shipments exporting from the United States.  Ensure division complies with Federal Regulations, as well as, laws of the foreign countries to achieve the compliant processing of shipments.  Maintain effective business relationships with foreign and domestic offices/departments and major accounts.  Work and communicate with other members of the Company to create an effective team and represent the company’s interest in any function.  Contribute expert knowledge during discussions of critical issues.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Five (5) years of experience in the ocean and air transportation industry.
  • Three (3) years of management experience. To include; export documentation, coordinating inland trucking for LCL/FCL (Less/Full Container Load), cargo insurance, and cargo consolidation/deconsolidation. 
  • Knowledge of Export Regulations and governing Federal Agencies.
  • Experience in preparation of Electronic Export Information (EEI/SED), Ocean Bill of Lading (OBL) documents, airway bills, Letter of Credits, and Purchase Order Management. 
  • Knowledge of exports documents such as Commercial invoice, Certificates of Origin, USDA and Phytosanitary certificates.
  • Ability to communicate (read and write) effectively in a business environment in both, English and Spanish.
  • Effective analytical and negotiating skills relevant to rating, pricing, and bookings.
  • Intermediate computer skills (in programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including telephone etiquette and positive customer relations abilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and fellow employees.
  • Ability to think logically and follow procedures and instructions
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. Must be able to prioritize and be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, multitask and possess strong initiative.
  • Ability to work extended hours, holidays and/or weekends, as needed.




  • Manages all aspects of the company’s Standard Export and Specialized Services PO Management divisions and the respective staff and transactions to maintain an effective and efficient workflow to increase freight volumes and profits.
  • Manage the export staff and responsible for coaching, staff development, training and delegating work assignments to export personnel.
  • Manages performance, reviews work and sets completion dates for department needs.
  • Develop and maintain divisional and customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to meet company service expectation and in compliance with Code of Federal Regulations and Export Compliance Federal agencies.
  • Develop and maintain an Export Compliance Program.
  • Maintain exceptional customer service satisfaction in compliance with the company’s service standards.
  • Manages and ensures staff are executing PO Management and export shipment transactions in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Maintain a corrective action program to ensure company processes and federal regulations are complied with and address progress corrective measures and user knowledge deficiencies.
  • Manager systems event and AES dashboards to ensure user updates and compliance.
  • Review division profit/loss reporting and establish action plans to maintain the company’s defined margins. 
  • Consistently review volume reports to assign workload to meet customer requirements and maximize staff productivity.
  • Work with Management on workflow enhancement projects.
  • Work with Management and systems division on system export functionality review and enhancements. 
  • Maintain a transaction compliance audit program in accordance with the company’s compliance program.  
  • Maintains accurate record keeping as required by law.


  • Participates and subscribes to any continuing education that is applicable to Export Regulations and other government agencies. Such knowledge is shared with staff and Customers when required.
  • Travel to visit customers as needed. 
  • Any other duties assigned as assigned by Vice President.

Reports directly to the Vice President. Exercises supervision over staff in the Export Division and Export Specialized Services Division.



  • Indoor office environment (80%).
  • Outdoors environment driving to visit and meet with customers (20%).
  • Exposed to non-controlled temperature and office environment controlled temperature intermittently during the day.
