POSITION SUMMARY:                

This position is responsible for coordinating the full-cycle recruitment efforts for the company along with general HR functions. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

Receives direct supervision from the Supervisor Recruitment & Employee Relations and indirectly reports to the Human Resources Manager.  Does not exercise supervision over any other position but may request assistance from the department’s administrative staff.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRIMARY

  • Perform full cycle recruitment for Houston location as needed
  • Drafts, updates, and posts advertising of existing openings
  • Reviews, drafts and updates job descriptions to ensure accuracy of duties performed and requirements as well as compliance with all applicable state and/or federal laws
  • Ensures that the established hiring process is followed, documented, and fully complies with the companies AAP and with all current EEO trends, laws and company’s hiring requirements
  • Perform audits of recruitment files, and maintain accurate records of recruitment efforts for AAP reporting purposes
  • Works with HR management, Corporate, and Legal in the annual preparation of the affirmative action plan
  • Participates in outreach events
  • Assist with coordinating the post-offer process and on-boarding of new hires
  • Assist with New Hire Orientation

 

SECONDARY

  • Assist with tracking of temporary staff and ensuring length of assignment is met
  • Perform filing of confidential documents
  • Perform additional related projects and duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS & ABILITIES:   

REQUIRED

  • Two (2) years of experience within a human resource department at a mid-to-large sized company
  • Associates degree or higher.
  • Combination of some college and one year of human resource experience will be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with full life cycle recruiting and on-boarding
  • Intermediate computer skills in programs such as MS Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Must have ability to read, write, and speak English at an advanced level in a business environment and communicate at different levels through-out the organization and with exterior organizations, candidates, etc.in order to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive employee relations and partner with senior management to drive HR and Business initiatives
  • Possess high energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities
  • Ability to prepare a variety of reports
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, multitask and possess strong initiative
  • Possess organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and be detail oriented
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Possess strong analytical skills
  • Ability to think logically, establish and follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May be subject to physical with other tests as applicable
  • The employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers
  • The employee frequently is required to talk and/or hear
  • The employee is continuously required to sit
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Indoors office - Exposed to controlled temperature and office environment
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
