POSITION SUMMARY:

Position entails active telemarketing sales support generating business for all areas Seaboard services. A high level of interaction between sales staff, commercial divisions as well as all offices and/or agencies in order to increase sales and profitability. Position will require work in a team environment supporting sales staff and sales effort. To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • One (1) year of customer service and/or sales/operations experience, preferably in US freight forwarder and/or Third Party Logistics industry related market.
  • Possess intermediate to advanced computer skills (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).
  • Possess strong organization and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to attend Conferences, Trade Shows, visit specific customers, as may be required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish at an advance level.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and writing.
  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to work in a goal oriented Team environment.
  • Ability to think logically and make sound decisions based on own discretion.
  • Ability to work extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary

  • Oversee the overall performance/progress of any specifically assigned accounts and interact with all parties in respect to the success of the same.
  • Supports sales objectives as set by management in accordance with specific company goals and directives.
  • Flexibility towards adapting to changing market trends and conditions. Able to function comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Focus on supporting Sales Executives and generating new business (i.e. sales leads, piers reports, reviewing competition statistics and manifest reports).
  • Work effectively in conjunction with Sales Executives, targeting key and/or new accounts.
  • Provide the sales department with necessary support and assistance as directed by management.
  • Responsible for maintaining customer records updated.
  • Plan and manage an active call cycle in accordance with the standards and directives of management.
  • Utilize all designated/provided resources and tools as directed by management, in the daily job functions.  
  • Keep abreast of tariff changes, including any new regulations and changes in rate applicability, maintaining a proactive line of communication with the Pricing departments on related issues. 
  • Attend department meetings as directed, and/or any other functions such as trade shows as may be required.
  • Focus on providing a high level of service, a positive attitude and demeanor are required in order to achieve highest level of results

Secondary

  • Problem solving on behalf of Sales Executives and/or customers.
  • Keep management informed of any issues concerning areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for all company property provided to perform the aforementioned duties.
  • Perform related duties as required by management.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use his fingers. 
  • The employee frequently is required to talk and/or hear. 
  • The employee is continuously required to sit.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. 
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

Receives direct supervision from the Director of Int’l Logistics.  Does not exercise supervision over any position but may request the assistance of office/clerical staff.

 

CONDITIONS:

  • Indoor office environment (90%).
  • Outdoors environment driving to visit and meet with customers (10%).
  • Exposed to office environment controlled temperature as well as occasional outdoor environment.
